Was Yesterday a Dream?

So, most of you know I had surgery scheduled on March 11th because I have a bad case of endometriosis and it has been causing infertility. John and I have been trying to have kids for the past five months and it has been unsuccessful. So...we went to the doctors on the first of March and long story short...surgery was scheduled.

Yesterday, I got up ready to head into surgery. My mom came and picked me up so we could go to Target, pick up my perscription and than head to the hospital for my surgery. John was then going to meet my mom there, so when I got out of surgery they could take me home. My doctor told me there was a very big possibility there could be a cancelation, so to plan on being ready by nine in the morning just in case. As we were driving to Target my phone starts ringing...it's the hospital. So the thought that starts running through my head is, "oh they must of had a cancelation and want me to come in earlier." Well...that wasn't the case. It was Dr. Spencer (my OB GYN)

Now I can't really recall everything about this phone call because I was in complete shock! First Dr. Spencer said...Is the Randi Huston. I of course said yes. He then asked if I was sitting down and proceeded to tell me I WASN'T going to be getting surgery that day because my blood work came back and I was PREGNANT!!

I started crying, my mom started crying....I told the doctor he had to be kidding! I immediately called John and told him...we were both in a state of shock!

Our prayers had been answered :) My mom and I drove to my brother and sister-in-laws house and surprised them! I wanted to shout it to the world!!! I had always imagined surprising my family in a much different way...But heck! This is a HUGE surprise for everyone!!! Here I was supposed to be going into surgery and the next thing I know, I'm getting told I am PREGNANT!

Later on that night we went to John's Parents and let them know...they were also in shock! But kept saying how much they can't wait to be grandparents! We really tricked everyone when we showed up...they thought I should be home on bed rest from surgery! We gave them a little diaper with two bags of Cadburry "MINI" eggs in it and a little note that said," Welcoming our "MINI" November 2011 ( we had to throw something together in five minutes)

John and I feel extremely blessed right now. I can't explain the emotions I felt and am still feeling today. I got up this moring and thought to myself, "Was yesterday a dream" because it sure does feel like one!

On Thursday, March 17th I have an ultrasound scheduled with my doctor. He wants to make sure everything looks okay. It's an early ultrasound, so all you will really see is a black blob...is what i have been told. No heart beat yet either...that will come at the next ultrasound. I am only four weeks along...so we are hoping and praying everything will be healthy and stick. I am so grateful for my family and for my husband.

WE'RE GOING TO BE A MOMMY AND A DADDY NOVEMBER 2011!

Four Days and Counting...

My surgery is in four days...pretty nervous about it :( Thursday night we are going over to my brother and sister-in-laws house to eat pizza and then John and Cory are going to give me a blessing.

This isn't like a huge surgery, so most would think I am a baby, but I don't care ha ha I still hate being put under...and the feeling after is even worse! I'm just hoping my mom or John are able to carry me out of the car and up a flight of stairs (this ought to be a sight to see) My room is going to be my permanent locations for three days...guess I better pick out my movie selection before I am bed rested :)

So I'm kinda jumping all over the place in this post, but I forgot to tell everyone where we went to dinner to celebrate our 2nd anniversary....

We went to The Roof! And wow the food was amazing. I can honestly say this is the best it has ever been. They had so many more selections then they usually do and I think I gained 5 lbs just from eating an entire plate of chocolate covered strawberries (don't judge)

After dinner, we went and walked around Temple Square and went across the street to look at the new City Creek area...It will be so much fun when it is all finished.

P.S.- If you go down to Temple Square in the near future, head over to the new Deseret Book! It's awesome!

So recently John and I have been deciding on if we would like to book a cruise vacation...I blogged about it a couple of weeks ago and since then we have been trying to convince each other, but today my husband says to me, "Randi I don't think we should spend our money on a vacation right now. I think we should pay off my car completely and keep focusing on have children."

Nothing makes me more happy than to know my husband and I are on the same page...Vacations for now will have to wait. It's time to focus on HAVING BABIES :) Plus getting out of dept (car payments) will only make it that much better when I have little one's and can stay home with them.

Surgery...

Well, John and I went to the doctor’s on Tuesday and I am scheduled for surgery in a week :)

This is a bitter sweet situation because it would be so much easier to just be able to have children to get rid of my endometriosis and not have to get surgery, but on the upside, we are one more step closer to figuring out what’s going on and one step closer to having children.

I am super nervous about the procedure because the last time I had this done I got extremely sick and ended up back at the hospital…not exactly fun! But I know everything will be just fine :) I’ve got the world’s best husband to take care of me and the best mom ever so I know that I will be very well taken care of. My wonderful sister-in-law has also offered to come over and keep us all company. I love my family :) They are awesome!

P.S. - Today is March 3rd! Happy Anniversary to my wonderful Husband…our celebration on Saturday will be lots of fun!

2 Year Anniversary

John and I will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary on Thursday…how the time flies. I don’t even know where to begin about how amazing my husband is. My life has been a dream come true and I owe that all to him. Every day I am so thankful for the person he is and the person he makes me. I am looking forward to many many anniversaries to come. I am so grateful to be sealed to this man for all time and eternity!!! Happy 2 years John, I love you!

As for how we will celebrate…

This weekend John is taking me to dinner.

PLACE…unknown (it’s a surprise!) I did give him four ideas that would be very yummy, so I will honestly be happy with wherever we go :)

AFTER DINNER…unknown (that’s a surprise too!) maybe a movie or something

I am also buying a new dress for the occasion… It's so cute! I am wearing it with my cute vintage rider boots, skinny brown belt, and a cute cardigan (not pictured)

Did I mention I still don’t know what I am getting my husband?! John said we weren’t doing gifts, but who really listens ha ha. If I stay with tradition on a gift then a 2nd anniversary means “cotton”…so I’ll have to become creative…in the next two days ha ha.

P.S.- doesn't our blog look so cute! It is in honor of our anniversary! Looks just like our wedding did :)

Biology...

A seven letter word that I am not liking too much! I am going to make this short and to the point...I don't like biology. Never will. This college course is going to be the death of me! Hence why there is no way I could ever become a doctor and anything else that requires you to take ten million biology, anatomy, or chemistry classes. I will be happy if I pass this class with something higher than a C this semester...hard for me to swallow when in the past I have been an A student...oh well! Too much stress doesn't do the body good. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger (and makes me realize I never want to take a science class again!)

The End!

Tax Refund...

It's Tax Season! I am trying to convince my husband (or maybe we are trying to convince each other) that some of our tax return should fund a vacation to here...

on one of these...

Happy Friday!

Blessings of the Temple...

Last night my mom, dad, Cory, Jenny, myself, and John all went to the Salt Lake Temple to do an endowment session. Our night started out at The Lion House Pantry. It's a quick eat, but so good! Every time I go to Salt Lake Temple it's a must! Before we headed over to the temple my mom pulled out the family cards we needed to do work for...I shuffled through the cards and pulled out a family member by the name of Nellie Smith :) She was from Wisconsin and born in 1885. I know after doing her work she was probably very happy! It was such a fun night. I absolutely love going to the temple with my family. This is definitely something that needs to happen more often. I am so grateful for the temples and for the knowledge that someday I will get to be with all of my family for all eternity!

Nervous...

So, today I had this orientation thing at the hospital because I am going to be helping out with some billing...I guess you could say it's like a second job, but not really :) It's five hours a week and really good pay...extra money that can be spent on vacations, clothes, or buying my husband something really nice! ha ha so anyway...back to what I got on here to blog about. I thought this orientation was going to last until three, but I actually got out and one. I got home and well, gave the doctors a call, something I should have done months ago...but I've been extremely NERVOUS! I guess you can say John and I have been trying to have children and aren't having much success. When I was 16 years old I was diagnosed with endometriosis and a severe case of ovarian cysts. I remember the doctor telling me, "if you were old enough I would tell you to have children right now". Now sorry to through in all the fun womanly parts into this post, but I got a laperoscopy done and well...my right ovary wasn't functioning. It had been damaged by all the stuff going on inside of me. Sad enough to say...the doctor told me that getting pregnant when I was older would be a challenge...Just what you want to here, right?! For some reason in the back of my head I tried to ignore that fact and now that we are trying and wanting children, those words are haunting me in my sleep...seriously though! I try to be funny and make joke of this situation, but it's not easy I'm not going to lie. It's what I think about 24/7 and it makes me cry thinking that there is even a slight possibility I won't be able to have my own children. So, before I decide to jump to any conclusions, I made an appt. with a doctor that my sister-in-law recommended. ( a big step for me) I thought I wasn't going to have to involve a doctor to tell me how to get pregnancy, but I thought wrong...Can March 1st come soon enough??? That is when I will go meet with Dr. Spencer and we will try to figure out what to do next. I'm NERVOUS...This appt. will probably consist of setting up a time for surgery (Lapo again) that way they can see what going on in there...if there is more damage or blockage (sorry for the openness, hopefully no one gets completely grossed out by this)

Though I am having a rough time with this right now...I know it's all going to work out. I am trying to be positive, not stress, and be patient with my Heavenly Father and myself. I love my husband and can't thank him enough for being here for me. It's been rough and hopefully something that will pay off in the end. So...MARCH 1st! BRING IT ON! :)

Happy V-Day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Well, tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I am not sure I will have time to get on here, so why I've got some free time tonight I wanted to let John know how much I love him and appreciate him. Things have been a little difficult for me lately and I know I am not the easiest one to deal with all the time, but he has been there for me day and night. I am so lucky to be married to someone who is so amazing. He makes me smile every day and I am so grateful for that. Happy Valentine's Day John! I love you so much and can't thank you enough for all you do for me.

For Valentine's, we are getting take out (not sure where...it's a surprise) my only recommendation is that we get chocolate covered strawberries. Than we will probably watch a movie...nothing big, just a night to relax and snuggle :) my fav! Tuesday, we are going with my parents and Cory and Jenny to the SLC temple to do an endowment session.

P.S.- It's our 2 year anniversary in 2 weeks!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

One year down...One to go!

I can't believe Josh has been out a year already! How the time flies... We miss you Elder Huston and can't to see you in a year!

Thought for today...

"Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - that is patience."

This Quote sure makes me giggle...I don't know about all of you, but when I am trying to be patient and wait for things, I wait passively :) So I am trying to be better with this and when I wait for things, I want to wait optimistically instead.

Happy 1st Birthday Charlie!

So, first off I would like to give a shout out for the Green Bay Packers! Last nights Superbowl was awesome...at first we wondered if it was going to be a clean sweep, but both teams made it very entertaining to watch. The commercials were okay...my favorite was the Volkswagen one with the little Darth Vader kid...SO CUTE! Go ahead and see for yourself if you missed it...

So, what I actually got on here to blog about...It's my cute dogs birthday today! Charlie is one year old! and looking as cute as ever. I know people think it's weird that I blog about my dog...but John and I love this little guy so much! He was our Easter present last year and ever since that day, it was the best decision we have made. Believe it or not, he has prepared us for children (early mornings, potty training, going to the doctors, late nights, wanting to play at two in the morning, and most importantly...he makes us so happy) Happy birthday buddy! We love you so much and are so glad we have you in our family :) Here's to many more years to come!

Sundays...

I can honestly say that Sundays are for sure my favorite day of the week and I definitely needed a refresher after the past five days. This past week was not the best. It consisted of frustration, anger, crying...you get the picture. I just honestly was in the worst mood ever and it seemed that no matter what I did to get rid of it, just wasn't working. So after having a major blow up on Thursday and having a nice weekend to cool off, I feel much better :) I am feeling very grateful today for the many things I have been given...though at times I feel mad and frustrated, I know my Heavenly Father loves me and wants the best for me. I am so grateful for my husband...for his love and support he shows me every day. I feel terrible when I have these off times because he seems to get the brunt of it all. He always seems to know how to make me feel better and make me realize, hey Randi everything is going to be okay. Here's to hopefully a better week :) Enjoy this video...

M.I.A

For anybody who reads my blog...sorry for the fact I have been missing for the past two months. School is pretty much kicking my butt this semester and well...I barely have time to think. So getting on here and thinking about blogging just won't fit on my agenda lately. I just wanted you to know I am still alive! Lets face it...I probably won't get back on here until something really fun and exciting is going on in our life, but as for now the only thing exciting is well...nothing! I'm in school. The End
